A webmaster asked on Twitter if it was okay to use sticky footers. A sticky footer is a footer that sticks to the bottom of the browser’s viewport as you scroll. It usually contains navigational elements or sharing buttons.
Google’s Gary Illyes answered that these footers are okay. However, webmasters should try to make them as less obtrusive as possible:
Nah, I wouldn't worry about that, but do try to make them as less obtrusive as possible. You really don't want to annoy your users
