On Twitter, Google announced that they stopped supporting the standout meta tag and editor’s pick feeds. Both could be used with Google News before;

The standout meta tag was used to mark pages with big stories and/or extraordinary work. The editor’s picks feed enables publishers to pick up to five links that represent the best content on the website. The new version of Google News uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to find that content.
